Maximum Efficiency

QS SPEED

Clean design with no biomimetic features. Optimized for maximum L/D ratio with NACA 0008 profile. The most efficient fin in the catalog. +20% sustained L/D and +24% max L/D vs FCS M-5.

SPEED — maximum efficiency fin SPEED

vs FCS M-5

Thinnest profile (NACA 0008), lowest drag, highest L/D. Less absolute lift but much better hydrodynamic efficiency. For surfers who prioritize speed over pure maneuverability.

Scaling factor design with thickness variations. All sizes maintain the NACA 0008 profile and curvature parameters.

Pure design

No biomimetics. Maximum efficiency.

The goal of this fin is to maximize L/D. Any biomimetic feature adds drag. No tubercles, no serrations, no microchannels. Just an NACA 0008 profile optimized with minimal sweep, rake and twist.

SPEED — clean NACA 0008 design

NACA 0008 profile with 4° sweep, 55° rake and 0.5° twist. Completely clean surface. Every parameter optimized by NSGA-II to maximize L/D in the 5°–15° operating range.

Max L/D

10.01 at 5°

The best lift/drag ratio in the catalog. 24% better than FCS M-5 and 10% better than ALLROUND. Pure efficiency without compromises.

Ultra-thin profile

NACA 0008

Only 12.4 mm max thickness. Half that of the RADICAL. Less frontal area, less drag, more top speed. For surfers who want to go faster.

Minimal twist

Only 0.5°

The lowest cant angle in the catalog. Less flow correction, more direct response. The fin goes exactly where you point it.

CFD

Validated simulation

k-ω SST turbulence, fine mesh (~3M cells), 4 angles of attack. Fluid: real seawater at 7.5 m/s.

Materials

Efficient manufacturing

Same manufacturing process as the entire QS series: PA-CF with 3K Twill reinforcement and epoxy coating. Standard FCS II system. The lightest fin in the catalog at just 99 g.

Maximum speed

532.8 mm height with the thinnest profile in the catalog. Less frontal area, less drag. Designed to go fast in a straight line.

Less is more

No tubercles, no serrations, no microchannels. Every gram of material and every millimeter of geometry is dedicated to speed.

Lightweight

Only 99 g in size L. The lightest in the QS series. For the surfer who notices every gram and wants maximum response.
